An experience in luxury, these textiles are embellished with the finest Gota work, a prestigious type of metal applique that originates from Rajasthan, India. Silver or gold Gota ribbon is cut into various shapes, like teardrops, leaves and other geometric designs. Our dexterous artisans then hand stitch these onto lustrous, hand woven silk, and outline them in gold wire to create beautiful patterns of paisleys, chevrons and florals. The resulting textiles convey a subtle luminescence, adding a hint of glitter and romance to any room.
Traditionally reserved for priests and royalty, Gota work became a staple of wedding attire a century ago and remains so to this day due to its splendid visual appeal. Our pillow covers pay homage to the royal workshops of medieval India while pairing seamlessly with contemporary décor.
